You've been referred to Out Loud - what next?

Here at Out Loud Developmental Services, we see children from very little to very grown up! We have a team of Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, Therapy Assistants and Administration Staff. You can see the whole team by clicking here.

We are passionate about children's development and believe that families have the right to access the support and opportunities they need to help their children develop, learn, participate and thrive. Our offices are based in Bunbury, Western Australia, but we travel across the greater South West and offer Telehealth services across the state.

You don't need a referral from a medical or education professional (doctor or teacher) to access services at Out Loud, we welcome self referrals. However, your GP, Paediatrician, school or health service might recommend Out Loud and refer you directly.

Once we receive your referral or request for services, your child's name will be placed on a waitlist to be seen by one or more of our therapists. Many families, especially those coming to our service with an NDIS plan will be booked for an intake appointment. We want your experience with Out Loud to be as smooth as possible, so we don't offer you an appointment for intake or assessment until we have the capacity to be able to provide the level of service you need. This may mean a wait to see us at the start, but then once your Out Loud journey begins, you are on the way!

At Out Loud, the services you receive are tailored to the goals and needs of your child. This is why we take time to plan in meetings such as intake & review. You'll always receive a copy of the Action Plans we make and be a key part of every decision making process. We work in a partnership with families - valuing the knowledge and experience you have when it comes to your child. We also involve other key stakeholders that contribute to your child's therapy journey including schools, other health professionals and support staff.

For many clients, we will send you a welcome pack that requires completing prior to your first appointment. Please fill this out and return it to us - by email, in person or by mail. The time we spend with you in person is valuable and it's helpful to have the paperwork side of things received and securely filed on our electronic system before we see you. We also appreciate any extra information you have for your child - such as reports from other therapists, information from school or medical history information.

You are welcome at any time to call our office and ask us any questions you have about Out Loud, the intake process or the waitlist.

We can't wait to meet you!
